Pescadero Beach

North of Santa Cruz and south of Half Moon Bay is this beach.

1. A few miles inland is Duarte's Cafe

Great artichoke soup.

2. We went there

after we stopped, My wife wanted the soup.
I went with fish and chips. We used to bike around that area. There are a couple of loops that fit that restaurant in and the old general store which burned down,

It's a craggy sort of beach with rocks and gravel all around. But I love the crashing waves and the birds.

5. I loved that place.

It was the site I referenced in the closing piece of a novel I spent some time writing but never finished in the 1990s.

6. Beautiful area, I used to go to Davenport beach all the time.

It's been 40 years but I think Davenport was north of Half Moon Bay, it was such a totally cool place back then. Loved all the little inlets.

7. Davenport is north of Santa Cruz

I did the bike portion of a triathlon from SC to there and back. Plus did it to see what it would be like race day. Very scenic. That whole coast there is.

8. I have always been super directionally challenged, so figures I'd get that wrong - specially after 40 years.

It was so gorgeous there, I'd love to return and check it out again some day.
