I was hoping to get up the bell tower but events, and repair work, conspired against me.
The best part of this Cathedral is the types of marble used. Unfortunately i don't have decint pictures of that. Being an in city church with tall surroundings made it dark and they frown on flash. Here are some bits that might be of interest.
The tower.
One of the altars. Rich proving their worth to God.
Detail from the altar, with 'transparent marble'

(12,512 posts)Many cathedrals have an abundance of art and glorious stained glass, but the most amazing one to me is Canterbury Cathedral, first established in 597. It was rebuilt beginning in 1070, and what is amazing is the simplicity of the inside and the skill of stone workers to accomplish the absolute symmetry of pillars and arches at that time.
