BTO was a big favorite of mine, as was Randy Bachman's previous band, The Guess Who.

Thought it was an odd pairing.
They were fine, but it's not what most of that audience came to see.
Randy is good guitar player, buy he was no Eddie.

Saw Satriani twice. Definitely a peer of Eddie's.
So, was Nuno in Extreme. My buddy & I saw them in '89 at The Vic in Chicago
There are plenty of novel, technically brilliant players out there, but they're still working from the dictionary Eddie wrote.

I walked into Tommy's Pinball Arcade and Foosball Parlor in Boulder and got hit with it, and it was unlike anything I'd heard before.

It wasn't just the technique (which was both prodigious & revolutionary), but the sound of the guitar.
A true groundbreaker.
