I’m a proud Aunt of a tenor who will be traveling to Italy for a few weeks to study and sing. He is so excited to have this opportunity. Has anyone been to ISCHIA, ITALY and recommend places to see?

Thank you for polling your family Usonian. Speaking of small worlds by you listening to Pagliacci- I was able to see my nephew perform this opera in New Mexico.
I love when he sings this opera.

Just recently I saw him perform Puccini’s ‘Il Tabarro In Knoxville with Marble City Opera. It was staged outdoors by a lake. A different and wonderful experience.

My cousin, an artist and author, sent the following.

. Take a boat tour around the island (last time I was there, they were only in Italian and German). It’s amazing to see the how this volcanic island just pushed itself out of the water
. Visit Castello Aragonese. Walk the causeway from Ischia Porto. Maybe find a guide.
. Visit Forio and its beautiful little Chiese del Soccorso
. If you’re adventurous, have a mud bath and massage
. Visit a beach or two
. Walk around the port at sunset
You can take a public bus that circumnavigates the island. It’s a cheap way to get around, and you get to see more than the average tourist.
