Slippery slope - I used to think I was high-brow

Last edited Sat Oct 5, 2024, 07:26 PM - Edit history (2)

After all, I have a G.I. Bill M.A. degree - thanks, Wizard of Oz, have got a piece of paper.

But in the last few years have started out with the previously disdained "reality shows" and am now toying with "telenovelas".

*** Well, among us, during my G.I. Bill thing, I was watching Gilligan's Island. And now in my elderly retirement am doing what I call The University of YouTube, and I notice that the despicable ROGAN calls his whatever-empire "University of Rogan" - not that I claim he copied me/a Nobody (like Odysseus). ON EDIT, from Google: In Homer's The Odyssey, Odysseus tells the Cyclops Polyphemus that his name is "Nobody" as a way to escape being eaten: "

Dedicated to Skittles: Jason lost a sandal, which he didn't call a "shower shoe". However, we in the Navy *did* call them "shower shoes."

ON EDIT: Just to mitigate the nutcase post a bit: Reference to Jason (of Argonauts fame) : "When Jason turns 20, he journeys to see Pelias to reclaim his throne. At a nearby river, Hera the Queen of the Gods approaches him disguised as an old woman. While carrying her across the river he loses a sandal and arrives at court wearing only one." (from Google)
