Blue State Women Not As Safe As You Thought; CA Sues Hospital, Alleged Denial of Emergency Abortion

Blue State Women…You Are Not as Safe as You Thought You Were, Daily Kos, Oct. 1, 2024. Ed.

(Photo: People gather in front of the Georgia State Capital in Atlanta, Fri, June 24, 2022, to protest to protest the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade...)

I didn’t see anyone here post this, so I will.

I live in Blue California, in a fairly blue town. But the monopoly on our health care is owned by Providence, a Catholic hospital. And yes, they turned away someone I know personally, who was miscarrying twins, because the care she needed was against their religion. OMFG.

Now, the good news is that this is illegal in California, so they are getting their asses sued from here to the bakery by a private firm, a women’s organization, and the CA DA. But still, this wonderful woman almost died, and I would be deprived of the best chiropractor on the planet. Not to mention the devastation felt by her friends and family. Not to mention it’s just WRONG.

Providence MUST NOT get away with this, or being in a blue state will be NO protection for any of us. Read all about it here..

I fucking hate religions.

They are always sticking their damn noses where they don't belong.

They don't belong in health care.

cancer was all set for end of life treatment with his doctor when the Catholic run hospital group stepped in, stopped the process and fired the doctor. Tragic.

very likely a big factor. How was she supposed to know all this, and travel to another area to find a different hospital. I had emergency surgery once for a life or death condition, you don't delay..

If you live in ANY red county you should be prepared for this until we smash them out of office and codify our right to exist on our own.
