Ukraine struck military targets in Russian-occupied Crimea, hitting several bridges as multiple explosions were reported across the peninsula overnight on June 11, according to local authorities and monitoring channels.
Mikhail Razvozhayev, Sevastopol's Russian-installed proxy head, said that Russian air defenses intercepted 33 Ukrainian drones, allegedly repelling "two large-scale Ukrainian attacks."
One woman was injured as a result of the strike, and residential buildings and vehicles were damaged, Razvozhayev said. Yet the Russian-installed official did not report any damage to critical infrastructure.
Residents previously reported missile launches from Cape Fiolent and multiple explosions across Sevastopol, the pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel Crimean Wind said.
According to the channel, two impacts were reported near Komyshova and Kozacha bays, followed by an additional four to five strikes. Another reported impact struck a military facility in Striletska Bay. Witnesses also reported smoke rising over Omega Bay and a large fire in the Striletska Bay area.......................

(24,108 posts)Putin will not stop. I think Ukraine is wearing Russia down both mentally and economically, but the cost for Ukraine is downright nightmarish since the beginning.

(32,957 posts)I only get my news from a handful of sources, especially with the fog of war involved.
A little bit of history; when Russia illegally annexed Crimea it gave extravagant sweetheart deals for Russians to settle in Crimea, 800,000 Russians took the offer,
Ukraine isn't planning on having a ground force storm into Crimea and takeover, no, it is too busy fighting Russia in the East. Here's the deal though, Putin promised the Russians who moved to Crimea that he would protect them so what Ukraine is now doing is showing those Russians, hey, Putin can't protect you. Those bridges that Ukraine just took out were supply routes. Ukraine is also gaining control over the air space in Crimea. What Ukraine is saying to those 800,000 Russians in Crimea, you better get out while you still can.
Ukraine is showing the world how to beat a super power that invades its country. The Russian strategy of throwing cannon fodder at the enemy has not only caused so many Russian casualties, it destroys morale. Ukraine is fighting a smart war, Russia is fighting like the British fought in the Revolutionary war. Now that Ukraine is building its own long range missiles it has used them to take out Russian oil facilities and other facilities inside Russia that contribute to the war. Putin is bombing civilians, Zalenskyy is bombing drone factories, ammunition dumps, oil facilities. Russia is running out of ammo, it will never defeat Ukraine.
