Acting AG Todd Blanche faces questions on $1.7 billion 'Anti-Weaponization Fund'

Source: ABC News

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche faced questions Tuesday on the $1.776 billion "Anti-Weaponization Fund" to compensate those who allege they were wrongly targeted under the Biden administration.

Blanche's testimony on the Justice Department's 2027 budget request marked his first appearance before lawmakers since he was tapped by President Donald Trump to lead the Justice Department April after Pam Bondi was removed from the position.

The fund, which was first reported last week by ABC News, was announced Monday as part of a settlement agreement in Trump's $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service.

It has already drawn condemnation from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle amid growing questions over how the funds will be distributed and whether they could be awarded to political backers of the president and even potentially the rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

"I want to give the guys who beat up cops, broke in, threatened your lives and vandalized the place $1 million apiece," Blanche.

they are counting on an absence of free and fair elections from here on out. They are counting on no accountability.

And that statement is pertinent to at least half the DU front page posts

deep in my bones and with every joint in my body, add in the fact that the back of my house floods everytime we get a "gully washer" and that's what we've been getting for the last few days, and so my attitude isn't great today. I am so close to giving up it's even scary to me. I see no way out. They've got this election rigged 16 ways to sunday, as the old saying goes. We win, and they just deny it and go on like the election never happened. This has been the result too many times we can trace back. They've got the formula down pat by now; and with the ever increasing intrusion of wi-fi, we're screwed, IMO. Trump wants that bunker for one thing... he'll hole up there and we'll have to blow the damn thing up to get him out of the white house. Meanwhile, every bit of our country is being destroyed in order to build a country adorned by and for only him. I can't stand it any longer. The pain, both external and internal is too much to bear, especially as I lose friends my age to death and disability. How the hell do we dig our way out of this without blowing up the whole country ourselves?!
