House Speaker Mike Johnson calls for "patience" on economy: "You don't flip a switch...and it all just is fixed magically"

Source: CBS News

Hours before President Trump's State of the Union address, House Speaker Mike Johnson told CBS News the U.S. economy is on the right track — but he added that inflation has not been "completely fixed yet."

In an interview Tuesday with "CBS Evening News," Johnson also argued "we shouldn't freak out" about the impact of artificial intelligence on jobs and urged the Iranian government to "follow common sense" as Mr. Trump weighs military action.

Johnson expects Mr. Trump to spend part of his speech Tuesday night touting his economic record, including "the exciting facts about what we've been able to accomplish."

In recent months, the president has celebrated the country's economic performance in his first year on the job, including a slowdown in inflation and a strong labor market. Recent polls show most voters aren't so optimistic. Just 37% of Americans feel that the state of the economy is good, and 60% feel that Mr. Trump makes prices and inflation sound better than they actually are, according to a CBS News survey released Tuesday.

Seems that's what happened when TSF took office...like someone flipped a switch and the economy began to tank. It's been going down the crapper ever since.

But it certainly can be sabotaged & destroyed instantly by targeted attacks.

Like ubiquitous tariffs.

The Orange Pig inherited an economy that was the envy of the world with some inflation problems that were already on their way down. Wages are now stagnant, we are losing jobs and prices are through the roof. Not to forget that the social safety net is being devastated and millions are without health insurance. And government corruption is rampant.

That these lying bastards in the Trump cabal don't deserve one minute of serious consideration on anything they say.

Lied about lowering prices.

Lied about deporting only the worst of the worst

Lied about who would pay the tariffs

Lied when he said he knew more than the experts.

He didn’t cause the problems the way Trump’s tariffs and trade policies, along with his bigoted comments about our trade partners, have.

that Trump and his lunatics put us in! Compared to other countries we recovered the fastest economically an all the other major countries.
Here's the "mess" that Biden left:
- BEST rate of job creation in history
- Lowest overall unemployment in 50 years
- Record High Stock market growth
- GDP growth more than double what Trump had
- Best rate of wage growth in decades
- Lowered Medicare drug costs
- Energy production at a historic
But the media fails to mention this after the G🤡P and their orange pedo hero continually lie with their constant talking point about “Biden’s disastrous economy!
