Iran could start enriching uranium for bomb within months, UN nuclear chief says

Source: BBC

Iran has the capacity to start enriching uranium again - for a possible bomb - in "a matter of months", the head of the UN's nuclear watchdog has said.

Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said the US strikes on three Iranian sites last weekend had caused severe but "not total" damage, contradicting Donald Trump's claim that Iran's nuclear facilities were "totally obliterated".

"Frankly speaking, one cannot claim that everything has disappeared and there is nothing there," Grossi said on Saturday.

Israel attacked nuclear and military sites in Iran on 13 June, claiming Iran was close to building a nuclear weapon.

Maybe that word doesn’t mean what Trump thinks it means.

Iran builds its own centrifuges & has uranium mines.

They can always restart and with some high grade Uranium & centrifuges stashed away does not take long to boost it from 60% to 90%.

Now making a reliable space flight survivable small enough warhead is the issue.

Only the best people. Total waste of munitions, but they got their pat on the head.

5. So if it wasn't obliterated, damaged, delayed a bit, etc., do we support another strike, doing nothing, or what?

I have no idea. Would hope an acceptable agreement can be found, but we might be past that.

Syria was given notice, an empty airfield was bombed, US declared itself a victor and much stronger than Obama...and the airfield was open a couple days later

Not sure I give a fuck what the UN says at this point. Iran is a basket case. Their military did not prove itself to be particularly impressive. Their air defense was shit.

I doubt they are on the way to building anything. Before Tulsi gave in, she said so herself (in a rare moment of truth). Israel is understandably paranoid, but that’s their problem, to be honest. Let them deal with Iran. They scuttled the nuclear deal.

Incredible, but at some point this “are they aren’t they building a bomb” will lead straight back to the second Iraq war. The only good thing now is republicans aren’t as likely to support a full scale invasion with boots on the ground.
