Critical National Weather Service staff would be classified as part of the nation’s public safety apparatus, like FBI agents and air traffic controllers, and protected from future reductions in force under a measure Rep. Mike Flood, R-Neb., introduced Friday.

The Weather Workforce Improvement Act, which has received bipartisan support from representatives of several other stormy states, also would grant the agency temporary direct hiring authority for positions important to public safety — meteorologists, general physical scientists, hydrologists, computer specialists and electronic technicians.

“I know this means a lot to the men and women of the National Weather Service,” Flood said in a media call Friday. “They’ve wanted this classification for a long time, and I’m hopeful that we can get it done here in this Congress.”

Flood got involved in weather service staffing in March, not long after officials at the National Weather Service office in Valley announced that they would stop twice-daily weather balloons because of staffing shortages.

1. I really have to wonder if these RethugliKlan congresscritters actually read the bills they pass

or at least have competent aides who read the bills and report on items that might hurt their constituents .. but I never wonder for long because I know the answer. Many of them probably don't realize that TV weatherpersons like Al Roker depend on National Weather Service data for the predictions they make.

...the reason people gain weight is because they have a stomach and the whole thing should be eliminated to solve that problem--proudly proclaiming that experts in anatomy and biology have no idea what they are talking about when they are adamant that the body actually needs that vital organ--they finally get their long-awaited opportunity to remove it and realize things don't actually work that way.

I guess you don't what you've got 'till it's gone.

This is what he told his constituents at his latest town hall when they were questioning him about health care and SNAP cuts. I can't give him much credit. He is just trying to save his seat (and his ass)!

8. Some advice Mr. Flood. Don't go night fishing on Lake Tahoe with anyone. If you do, say a Hail Mary. To be renamed Hail

and then later on want to change it.

Maybe they don't know much about the country or the
government since they see their job in two parts:
Trump-serving and self-serving.

An altruistic bond in their body. With them there is always an agenda. Something that puts money in his pocket or screws over climate science or some other component that hurts women or LGBTQ+ people.
No good ever comes of Republican legislation.
