Trump says Elon Musk will face 'very serious consequences' if he funds Democratic candidates

Source: NBC News

President Donald Trump on Saturday said there would be “serious consequences” if tech mogul Elon Musk funds Democratic candidates to run against Republicans who vote in favor of the GOP’s sweeping budget bill.

“If he does, he’ll have to pay the consequences for that,” Trump told NBC News in a phone interview, but declined to share what those consequences would be.

“He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that,” he added.

The president also said he has no desire to repair his relationship with Musk after a feud between the two men erupted into public view earlier this week.

although I can imagine him doing it out of sheer spite. But if he did, what's to stop him? It would be just as legal as "buying" the presidency for Trump.

In this age where money is speech, penalizing someone for what party they contribute to is a direct violation of the 1st Amendment.

Some companies do it merely because they think that they have to fund the power base in their areas of operations, they couldn't care less which party they're actually funding.

Trump wants to fund others to get rid of them. Elon said the 2 independents are his fav in the party and he will fund them. However, both are so popular in their states - they will win regardless.

This really got Trump mad - it was the beginning of the escalation.

The Nazi salutes, awkward jumping on stage, ketamine fueled ramblings, and down right weird behavior was Elon's own doing.
