UnityPoint Health-Meriter reach a tentative agreement with SEIU Wisconsin, ending 5-day strike

MADISON (WKOW) -- UnityPoint Health-Meriter has announced that they have reached a tentative agreement with SEIU Wisconsin, through the assistance of a mediator, according to a press release.

UnityPoint-Meriter says emphasized it being a tentative agreement and is subject to a vote by union members for ratification.

The tentative agreement comes on day 5 of their strike period.

According to Media Relations Specialist, Nicole Aimone, the company respects the union's process and looks forward to the outcome of their decision.

I’m taking a family member for surgery at Meriter tomorrow - one that can’t be postponed - and I’ve been hearing from friends who are CNAs there how difficult it has been working with the traveling nurses. I realize the strike was scheduled for just these five days (this time around), but the uncertainty is not reassuring.

I hope the nurses are faring well with this agreement!
