'They Got Railroaded!' Trump Says He'll Consider Pardons for Men Convicted In Plot to Kidnap Democratic Governor

Source: MEDIAite

May 28th, 2025, 1:29 pm

President Donald Trump said he will consider pardoning the men convicted in connection with a plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D).

Speaking with reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday, the president said he plans to look at the cases of the four men who were either convicted or pleaded guilty on various federal charges stemming from the 2020 plot to kidnap the governor. Trump, when asked about potential pardons by a pool reporter, stated he believes the men were “railroaded.”

“I will take a look at it,” Trump said. “It’s been brought to my attention. I did watch the trial. It looked to me like somewhat of a railroad job, I’ll be honest with you. It looked to me like some people said some stupid things, you know? They were drinking, and I think they said stupid things. But I’ll take a look at that, and a lot of people are asking me that question — from both sides, actually. A lot of people think they got railroaded. A lot of people think they got railroaded. And probably some people don’t.”

On a podcast last week, Ed Martin — who is now the DOJ’s pardon attorney after having his nomination withdrawn to be the lead U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia — said he plans to take a “hard look” at pardons for the men. “We can’t leave these guys behind,” Martin told far-right podcaster Breanna Morello. He added, “In my opinion, these are victims just like January 6.”

Nope. No one he held a gun to the heads of the kidnap platters. Not buying it, Orange Foolius.

Let's see: a bunch of white male militia goobers, plotting to kidnap the governor and take her somewhere for an ersatz "trial", and $hitler is trying to sell the idea that they got railroaded by being prosecuted after getting caught? What a freaking joke.

Our judicial system has let the Crime Minister repeatedly off the hook for his multitude of crimes, and his hand picked Extreme court has made him a virtual king by granting him immunity for whatever he chooses to do.
Laws don't prevent people from breaking them they just give society recourse if the laws are broken. Recourse can only occur if the laws are enforced and enforced equally and fairly.

It's painfully obvious that the laws are only being enforced on BIPOC and women. Women are only let off the hook if they are serving the agenda of the wealthy broligarchs.
The jerk wads who were plotting to kidnap the governor weren't railroaded anymore than the Tangerine Tyrant has been subjected to a "witch hunt". The Orange Anus has absolutely no concept of what it is like to be subjected to a witch hunt.
He's doing just like his hero, Hitler. Pardoning criminals in order to create his army of Brown Shirts.

.. time now. He expunged the federal records of 150,00 former law enforcement agents
who got fired and some went to jail for various crimes and violating law enforcement
protocols such as abuse, theft, bribery, and other things so they might be eligible to work
for the federal government. He pardoned those 1,500 J-6th shits including the leadership
of the attempted violent coup to make Trump a dictator, he has been protecting shits like
the Proud Boys and Patriot Front and they like to rent U-Haul box trucks and then show up
and intimidate citizens by carrying guns, Nazi flags, and stop Xmas shows in my neighborhood,
he is cleaning out the FBI of agents who believe in the rule of law and replacing them with “true
believers” who say that Trump was robbed in the 2020 election, and the A.G. along with the
top 2 people @ the FBI are totally “Trump Dirty.” And don’t get me started on paying Ashly
Babbit’s family $5 million for her death as she was trying to break into Speaker Pelosi’s office
to look for her and possibly hang her for stealing the 2020 election from Joe Biden.

Krasnov is planning to use violence. End of story.

If there are Michigan sentences, then the pardons should simply transfer these individuals from a federal prison to a state prison, right?

Depending on the current federal prison, they might be wise to decline the pardon. Some of the state prisons are not as nice, with food provided by lowest bidder, etc.

(although in some cases, they might have them deemed to happen simultaneously).

The last update from DOJ on the federal sentences is here (at the end of 2022) - https://www.justice.gov/archives/opa/pr/final-defendant-michigan-governor-kidnapping-plot-sentenced-over-19-years-prison

A couple should already be done and may already be serving the state sentences but the ones with the longer sentences (one guy had a 16 year federal sentence), assuming the full pardons go through, would send them right to the state prison system.
