Johnson denies 'big, beautiful bill' threatens Medicaid coverage

Source: The Hill

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) defended the House-passed “big, beautiful bill” that funds President Trump’s agenda during a Sunday appearance on CNN, arguing that it won’t threaten Medicaid coverage for people who need it, despite independent analysis that suggests it will end health insurance for millions.

“We are not cutting Medicaid in this package,” Johnson told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “There’s a lot of misinformation out there about this.”

The independent Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has estimated that nearly 8 million Americans will lose health care coverage in the coming decade through changes made in the massive domestic policy measure House Republicans narrowly passed in an early morning vote Thursday after an overnight session.

Trump himself warned Republicans not to “f‑‑‑ with Medicaid” during a trip to the Capitol on Tuesday to press lawmakers on his sweeping agenda measure dubbed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

He utilized the "fraud" argument where he claimed that they are only going to kick off people doing fraud. It is ludicrous. There are several vids of rump emphatically stating that they would never cut medicare, medicaid, or social security. That's a lie.

Johnson can't claim innocence just by using the "fraud" argument. He's helping to facilitate death to people who are not guilty of anything. I don't know how these people sleep at night.

this is the inside out version of protecting their seats.

if they vote for it, then they will be primaried or voted out.

but if they put on a big show of "defiance" (I know, too strong a word for the spineless) then their mouth breathing constituents will claim, "well, at least he tried". and promptly reelect him again.

this stinking pile of a bill will get passed.

then in a a few months the moron mages will start squealing like a pig. "this is not what we voted for!!!" actually, it's exactly what you voted for morons.
