Russia Asks to Buy Boeing Jets With Frozen Funds in US Talks

Russia has asked the US to let it buy Boeing Co. aircraft using money from billions of dollars in frozen state assets once there’s a ceasefire in Ukraine, according to a person in Moscow familiar with the matter.

While the request isn’t a condition of agreeing to a truce, Russia understands that frozen funds can’t be used to buy the jets without a ceasefire being in place, the person said, asking not to be identified discussing internal matters. A deal allowing the purchase of jets could form part of an easing of sanctions in the event there’s a halt to the fighting.

“The US will not discuss any economic commitments until a ceasefire has been reached,” National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes said, in response to a request to comment on whether Russia was seeking to buy Boeing aircraft. The State Department declined to comment.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Boeing declined to comment.

Russia's frozen assets are used to purchase Boeing planes, thereby saving this aspect of the Felon's f-up. Then Russia sells China the planes and gets their cash back.

Putin, and I have to assume trump will get a very nice commission for the sale.

That is what happened to a South American country, little by little they sold so much to China, and Russia too, that it will be impossible to get rid of them when there is a regime change.

or Russians. Or criminals, hackers.

This is more of the same. Permission has been given to Russian to get their money's worth.

All that money is tied up collecting interest to pay forward to Ukraine. Regardless, the decision is not entirely in U.S. hands. Most of the frozen funds are in European banks and your buddy in the White House has pissed off a LOT of European leaders lately. You started this war, now live with the consequences. Have a nice day.
