Navy fires commanding officer, command master chief of expeditionary security squadron

Source: taskandpurpose.com

Navy Cmdr. Brett Robblee and Command Master Chief Felix Phillips were both fired on Friday.

Jeff Schogol Apr 11, 2025 5:33 PM EDT

Both the commanding officer and command master chief of Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron 4, based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, were fired on Friday, the Navy announced.

Cmdr. Brett Robblee and Command Master Chief Felix Phillips were relieved “due to a loss of confidence in their ability to perform leadership duties,” a brief Navy news release says.

The Navy has not said publicly exactly why Robblee and Phillips were fired. All military branches use the euphemism “loss of confidence” to avoid providing the exact reason why commanding officers and senior enlisted leaders are fired. The vague term encompasses a variety of reasons, including problems at work and personal issues.

..................

According to the Navy, Maritime Expeditionary Security Forces, which oversee subordinate expeditionary security groups and squadrons, operate at sea and near shore, including in bays and harbors. Their primary role is to conduct security operations in those coastal waterways......................

Goodness, both have barely on their jobs for several months-hardly time to get to their jobs.
Short article that really does not say much.

For the Insurrection Act or deportation camps and these two could be key figures and likely worried they wouldn't comply to those type of commands.

Weakening the military is part of it, but it sure looks like something they would do as a prelude to overthrowing the Constitution.

Do you know how much bullshit each of them had to go through to get where they are?
This dismantling of senior positions, not only in the military, but everywhere in government can only lead to a collapse of democracy.

So if and when he tries to use the military against civilians he might find the competent commanders are there, in force, to oppose him and his thugs.

12. Gutting the military...

The gutting of the military has been ongoing since the inauguration.

In some ways this is odd, given the basic conservatism of much of the U.S. military, especially its officer corp.

But, besides weeding out women and minorities, this administration wants, and needs, fealty. They don't need a military that will NOT engage in operations against the American people.

In the Navy, Chief Petty Officers are the backbones of the enlisted personal. You hate your Chief, you'd like to kill your Chief, and, yet, you depend upon your Chief for almost everything. Without a chief the enlisted are a mere rabble.

It is to be hoped, but not guaranteed, that a majority of the mid-level officers, non-coms, and lifers will understand this conundrum and act accordingly when the need arises.

Command Master Chief is the formal title because Bad Ass Motherfucker was deemed inappropriate.

I retired a CPO, but can attest to the aura of CMCs. One told me when your Sailors do good their mine, when they do bad they’re yours. I appreciate the thank you. I thank the plumbers and electricians and the checkout lady at the grocery store and the tellers at the bank and the school teachers, and police and firefighters and the guys who pick up our trash. And the Methodists who en the food pantry and the city guys who clear the streets of snow when we’re still in bed. I thank them every time I see them. We couldn’t make it without their service.

Always a wave and a smile no matter the weather. Always on time for 6 years. The company apprises us on Facebook (my wife’s) about any schedule changes. We can do without city council for a month. Let the trash guys (and gal) get sick and hear the howls. We’ve lived here 6 years, rates haven’t gone up a penny. So easy to be kind and nice and generous.

Trump ‘Loyalty tests’ for military, intel agencies: Inside Project 2025
Project 2025 dedicates six chapters to "The Common Defense," proposing sweeping changes for the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, and the intelligence community. Its goal is to remove any obstacles to Trump’s authority and entrench right-wing culture wars into governance. The proposals include purging military leaders who don't align with Trump’s policies, eliminating what it terms "divisive critical race theory programs," expelling trans individuals from military service, and requiring military aptitude tests for public school students. Project 2025 advocates “a purge of anyone who might disagree with a second Trump administration,” warns top national security lawyer Mark Zaid.

"a loss of confidence in their ability to perform leadership duties."
President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to be secretary of the Navy, John Phelan, has not served in the military or had a civilian leadership role in the service. He was a major donor. The under-secretary is the nut Hung Cao.
