With cases of measles creeping ever closer to Nebraska, Gov. Jim Pillen on Friday urged the states residents to make sure they and their children are up to date on vaccinations for the highly contagious virus.
Nebraska so far has not reported any cases of measles this year. But as of Thursday, 712 cases have been reported in 24 states, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Texas has reported 532 cases, including the deaths of two children, and neighboring New Mexico has tallied 56 cases and one death. Other states with significant measles activity include Kansas with 32 cases, centered in the southwest portion of the state, and Ohio with 21 cases. Cases also have been reported in Oklahoma and Colorado. Some 97% of cases have been in people who are unvaccinated or have unknown vaccination status.
Its not if its going to come to Nebraska, but when, Pillen said during a press conference with state health officials to announce the states measles response plan. And thats why were here.

And certainly the children of these idiots have no choice.
