The Republican Party of New Mexico said its Albuquerque headquarters was targeted Sunday in what it called a "deliberate act of arson."
The entryway to the party's headquarters was destroyed early Sunday morning, the party said in a statement. The party alleged that the words "ICE=KKK" had also been spraypainted, calling it a "horrific attack, fueled by hatred and intolerance."
Amy Barela, the chairwoman of the Republican Party of New Mexico, said in a statement that no one was harmed in the incident. Barela said her team is working closely with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as well as local law enforcement and federal investigators.
"We will not allow New Mexico's broken criminal justice system to dilute the seriousness of this attack," Barela said. "The Republican Party of New Mexico will not be silenced. We will emerge from this stronger, more united, and more determined to fight for the people of New Mexico and the future of our country." The investigation will be led by the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Albuquerque police said.

Was it MTG? Bobo? Is there an ATF left? Wasn't Patel put in charge of the remnants of ATF?

(6,962 posts)I'm wondering if they understand where the hatred and intolerance comes from?
People don't sit around and think . . . today, I will focus on hatred and intolerance, and act those out.
If they were prepared to give it some thought. But I'm dreaming - they are the blameless victims, just as Elon is with the disrespect shown towards his Musk-mobiles.

(323 posts)I do not endorse violence or acts of sabotage, but it is the height of hypocrisy for any Republican to point the finger at others when it comes to hatred and intolerance.
Just look at their attacks on women and minorities and their relentless assaults on any and all organizations that embraced diversity and inclusion.
A huge FUCK YOU to the GOP and and extra dose of FUCK YOU to the New Mexico branch of MAGA!

(14,879 posts)A New Mexico man has been arrested and federally charged in connection with two separate arson attacks on a Tesla dealership and the Republican Party's state headquarters in Albuquerque, according to newly unsealed court documents.
Jamison Wagner is alleged to have set fires at a Tesla showroom in Bernalillo on Feb. 9 and vandalized several vehicles in the parking lot with phrases including, "Die Elon," "Tesla Nazi Inc" and "Die Tesla Nazi," according to a federal complaint.
Wagner also allegedly spray-painted the showroom itself, according to pictures from his criminal affidavit. The complaint includes images from surveillance video prosecutors said show the arson suspect wearing all-black clothing, a black mask and hoodie.
Wagner is also alleged to have separately set a fire in the early morning hours of March 30 at the New Mexico state GOP party's headquarters in Albuquerque.

The real danger here is that this happens more and more and we end up with an excuse for Trump to declare martial law.
