Sen. Chuck Schumer's book tour postponed amid funding vote controversy

Source: ABC

-snip-

Schumer, promoting his new book "Antisemitism in America: A Warning," has been facing backlash over voting for the House-approved government funding bill that averted a shutdown on Friday. Many Democrats, including progressives, had wanted him to vote against the bill and to more strongly protest against President Donald Trump's and congressional Republicans' agendas.

Schumer had events planned in Baltimore, New York City and Washington, D.C., this week. Protests were planned outside of all three events.

A spokesperson for Schumer's book tour told ABC News, "Due to security concerns, Senator Schumer's book events are being rescheduled."

Congress Dems said they were double crossed by Senate Dems.

I think this is the real issue to address.

...selling a book or for getting out its message. Hopefully, his book sinks into its well-deserved obscurity, and other more credible authors (the kind who don't betray democracy by kowtowing to Trump) take up the task of addressing the important issue that the book seems to have wanted to address.

In a way, Senator Schumer seems to have just pulled a "Musk" on his customer base, but he forgot to sell the books to them first.

but don't feel good in doing it (because of some idiotic move they made) they blame the cancellation of the appearance on "security concerns." If they're so concerned about security, go home and let someone who has the guts to do the job we sent them there to do rightfully do it.

I'm insulted. Schumer not only voted with the Republicans on the CR... which to mean is a vote against the people... but he's now claiming he's scared to do his book tour because we democrats are unhappy. With friends like these, who needs enemies?

trump is essentially handing back national leadership to Democrats, by virtue of his sheer ineptitude, faster than any of us ever dreamed it would happen---and Schumer's timing-out, for a fucking book tour? Hey, Senator: Get your butt back in your office and do things correctly, this time.
