Senate Advances GOP Funding Bill With Democratic Support

Source: HuffPost

Senate Democrats helped Republicans advance a six-month funding bill on Friday, taking the threat of a government shutdown off the table but sparking fury across the Democratic Party about giving President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk even more power over spending.

to the final bill will be useless because the GOP are loons and will most likely not let any of them get adopted. And even if any did, that would mean the House would need to come back and vote on the revised version, but they are gone all next week IIRC.

It was the Senate again who wouldn't fight back by refusing to co-sponsor the Congressional Black Caucus's challenge to the fraudulent Florida vote count in 2000 which disenfranchised millions of American voters and put our country on the path to dictatorship. Here we now are with a would be dictator in the White House

What the fuck???? IMO she ran a practically flawless campaign & she did it in three months. NO ONE has ever been under that kind of pressure, & I won't even go into the fact that she was one of the most qualified candidates who has ever run for president. I was so disappointed when Biden said he could have defeated Trump. I thought the party treated him horribly & I was one of his last defenders but IMO, he would have lost by more.

I'm also sick of this go-along-to-get-along strategy of the past 45 years & think it's partly why we're where we are today. When Pelosi is scolding you & Trump is congratulating you, you fucked up.

from Dems to hit the 60 votes needed and WTF, they got TEN. Now..when actually voting on the bill happens it doesn't matter, because it's a simple majority vote.

Republicans no longer need Dems and Trump can get back to calling Schumer names like he's done for ten fucking years.

The Government was NOT going to be shut down for months and months or until Sept--that's total BS. In case Schumer hasn't been watching Republican town halls it ain't exactly going good for Republicans in Congress these days--duhhhh. Those asshat Republicans would have been back at the bargaining table by the middle of next week MAX.

Stand UP to those fuckers and things happen,we've already seen that. Hell Trump backed off the SS phone stuff in 12 hours. Kowtow to them and they can't stop laughing and waiting to kick sand in Dems face again.

"I will do everything thing I can to fight back against Donald Trump. Please make a contribution to help me." Right after she and Chuck had just given up what little leverage they had against him.

If we still have elections and Chuck has a primary opponent they will get my vote, not him.
I hope she will face a primary challenger too.

I am especially happy with the work that Chris Van Hollen has been doing.

He writes a very comprehensive newsletter when he can. When he does, I copy and share it on FB, as well as with family and friends, so that people know what's happening behind the scenes, especially as several court cases are ongoing in the Federal District Court in Baltimore..

The Congress is ceding its power of the purse to Trump and the Executive Branch. This CR Bill is unconstitutional. You woud have to amend the Constitution to grant the Executive the power of the budget. That power belongs to the Congress. This bill hands the budget power over to the Executive Branch. It is an unconstitutional bill. The Democrats in the Senate should have shut down the government. Cowards.
