The Philadelphia Eagles have formally accepted an invitation from President Donald Trump to celebrate their recent Super Bowl victory at the White House.

A team spokesperson and White House official each confirmed the news to USA TODAY Sports on Tuesday morning and said the two sides are currently working on scheduling a date for the trip and ironing out the logistics. The Eagles trounced the Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22, to win Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans last month.

"We sent the invite and they enthusiastically accepted," the White House official wrote in an email.

The invitation -- and the Eagles' decision to accept it -- had been expected over the past few weeks, as both sides had publicly indicated their willingness to move forward with the ceremonial White House visit. The team signaled on Feb. 24 that it would accept an invitation from Trump, if it received one. And Trump said the next day that "absolutely they'll be extended that invitation."

that there is a lot of "fixing" of games in Professional Sports????? Given the un-fathomable amounts of on line betting, it seems it would be ripe for bribes of Refs, Coaches, and certain players........

In 1996?1997? the top five refs in the NHL were fired for their calls in the Stanley Cup........and now, it seems in many pro games there are calls/no calls that leave spectators with their mouths hanging open and saying WTF........

As kids we grew up knowing that prize fighting was fixed, now I am wondering about all of Pro Sports

says the Eagles "enthusiastically accepted" the invite, I totally believe it.
