Kennedy Links Measles Outbreak to Poor Diet and Health, Citing Fringe Theories

In a recent interview, the health secretary also suggested that the measles vaccine had harmed children in West Texas, center of an outbreak.

In a sweeping interview, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the health and human services secretary, outlined a strategy for containing the measles outbreak in West Texas that strayed far from mainstream science, relying heavily on fringe theories about prevention and treatments.

He issued a muffled call for vaccinations in the affected community, but said the choice was a personal one. He suggested that measles vaccine injuries were more common than known, contrary to extensive research.

He asserted that natural immunity to measles, gained through infection, somehow also protected against cancer and heart disease, a claim not supported by research.

He cheered on questionable treatments like cod liver oil, and said that local doctors had achieved “almost miraculous and instantaneous” recoveries with steroids or antibiotics.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is planning a large study into potential connections between vaccines and autism, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters, despite extensive scientific research that has disproven or failed to find evidence of such links.

It is unclear [LOL} whether U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr, who has long promoted anti-vaccine views, is involved in the planned CDC study or how it would be carried out. The CDC and the Department of Health and Human Services were not immediately available for comment.

Teach the controversy! (Said controversy is solely a product of the fact that a lunatic conspiracy theory that got its start from a conscious scientific fraud, carried out for money, isn’t recognized as such by people lacking either the desire or the ability to think, or both.)

Four years of this.

but especially the children’s lives with this lunatic in charge of ANY health agency .
I normally would not disparage anyone with mental health issues which he definitely has , but he is incredibly ignorant.

We are all in deep deep trouble.

In 4 years with his conspiracy theories about health and vaccines. Many younger parents will believe him. Education dept will be dismantled and vaccinations will be up to the parents not required.

It's insane that the only prerequisite for cabinet positions (or any political position in this country, really) is age.

A case of victim blaming?

But the solution is clear - feed them better at home and school, make them leave their electronics and go outside to play sports.

As health secretary, those aims are well within your brief.

Need some sneaky unofficial clandestine ops here - free measles vaccines supplied and applied behind the bike shed at schools, at pre-school facilities, etc.

"Not only do they give you a beautiful face and skin, but they also protect you from disease" she said.

She also warned against anti-retroviral drugs because of dangerous side effects.

Probably studied under the same witch doctor as RFK Jr.. When do we start keeping count of the deaths?

All I know is I have recently bought a really big box full of new N95 masks.

It’s because there is measles again and not enough herd immunity because of flagging vaccination rates.

One of these days, this nightmare will be behind us. Those of us who survive will still have trouble recalling the nightmare we lived through. Having RFK jr. imposed upon us as health czar will be one of many Exhibit "A" features of just how bad it was.
