Trump Revokes Collective Bargaining Rights At TSA To Crush Union

Source: HuffPost

The Trump administration said Friday that it is ending collective bargaining at the Transportation Security Administration, effectively revoking union protections for thousands of airport security officers.

In a statement, the Department of Homeland Security claimed the move would “safeguard our transportation systems and keep Americans safe.”

“Eliminating collective bargaining removes bureaucratic hurdles that will strengthen workforce agility [and] enhance productivity and resiliency, while also jumpstarting innovation,” the agency said.

Workers at TSA, which Congress created in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, do not enjoy the same union rights as employees at most other federal agencies. Bargaining rights can essentially be extended or rescinded at the will of the administrator.

180 degree flip overnight........He was a has been, "B" actor, and the Republicans gave him attention and a way to not only get rich, but to gain all the attention he coveted. And all he had to do was recite the lines that were given him, which required no thinking.
HW and his CABAL did everything else from the shadows, and Reagan was just the "front man" to keep attention diverted from all that they were accomplishing in the background.

The exact same thing was resurrected when they put WBush in the White House, with the same CABAL accomplishing even much greater shit than during the Reagan years.........

Operation Coffee Cup

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Reagan_Speaks_Out_Against_Socialized_Medicine

In this ten-minute recording, Reagan "criticized Social Security for supplanting private savings and warned that subsidized medicine would curtail Americans' freedom" and that "pretty soon your son won't decide when he's in school, where he will go or what he will do for a living. He will wait for the government to tell him."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Coffee_Cup

Operation Coffee Cup was a campaign conducted by the American Medical Association (AMA) Women's Auxiliary in early 1961[1] in opposition to the Democrats' plans to extend Social Security to include health insurance for the elderly, later known as Medicare. As part of the plan, doctors' wives organized coffee meetings to try to convince acquaintances to write letters to Congress opposing the program.

as I recall, was the delay in Dr.'s getting behind the smoking is horrible for your health campaign. Evidently the AMA made a deal with the people pushing medicare. If the Medical AMA would back off on the hazards of smoking, congress? would back off on the medicare push...

They were successful in delaying the release of the medical field's Anti smoking health information for ten years.....

Regan also turned in/named 'communists' in Hollywood during the McCarthy era hearings. Lying snitching weasel at the start, demented weasel at the end.

convinced the public that it was Iraq that caused 9/11, even though almost all of the hijackers were Saudis.......

Gore had done an excellent study of national Airline security, and the poor screening of passengers..... His study showed how crappy it was, and he named Boston as THE poorest security of any major airport in the U.S. I guess the Saudi's read his report, even though obviously no one else did.....

Although, there is ample evidence that WBush, Cheney, Rumsfeld may have looked the other way intentionally, as outlined in their Project New American Century "Manifesto" published in the late 90's. And Louis Freh, Head of the FBI ignoring warnings from flight schools in Arizona. The schools repeatedly reported to the FBI that they had a number of "Mid-Eastern" students who were only interested in how to FLY the plane, but could care less about take off's and landings.....

My Carpenter's Union member nephew voted for Trump because...reasons? This is exactly what Project 2025 laid out...start with government employee's unions and go from there.

There's no doubt in my mind that in a few months (at the most) his union will be busted wide open & his family will be in deep financial trouble. A couple of years ago, my sister & I decided neither of us were at an age where we should be living alone, so we decided to pool our resources, and bought a house together. It's big, and there's plenty of room, so it won't be an issue. Part of me wants to say, "Hell, no...this is what you voted for", but there are 2 young kids involved, so that really isn't an option. However, I will remind him that the reason I'm going along with it is because I'm a Liberal, and we believe in helping people when they need it.

I was about to begin an electrician apprentice program in Denver about the time he whacked PATCO. It was the shot heard across America for union bashing. The employers all knew that Reagan would trash the NLRB.
A journeyman in Denver pre Patco was making 22.00 an hour and 26% fringe. Two weeks after PATCO, suddenly Union Electricians in the Denver Area dropped to 12.00 an hour with ZERO fringe. It took electricians until the late 90's to get back to the 22 and hour, but only with about 12% fringe.

One way of guaranteeing cheap wages for corporations, if you are gonna deport all the mexicans who will work for much less.....

The major industries using the immigrant labor are the Building Industry, The Agriculture Industry, the Hospitality Industry, and the Meat packing Industry. How many ICE raids are at any location for THOSE immigrants?????? NONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bargaining rights can’t be extended or withdrawn at the will of the Administrator.

The bargaining rights were previously denied based on “national security”.

If I were TSA, I’d suddenly slow down over at Regan Airport, and EVERY airport.

March 14- national strike- EVERYONE needs to shut down the USA

He is on her insurance because it's better than ours, and he has a rare kidney disorder that requires him to go to the Mayo Clinic every 6 months for treatment. It's not a cheap visit.

He's fucked if his wife's health insurance is downgraded.
