Vice President Kamala Harris arrived in San Francisco late Saturday for a fundraiser expected to raise $12 million and attract 700 attendees.
Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi will be the featured speaker Sunday, other than Harris, a campaign spokesperson told the Chronicle. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Harris vice presidential pick, will not be there.
The fundraiser at the Fairmont hotel will be Harris first trip to San Francisco, where she lived and served as district attorney, since launching her presidential campaign and her first fundraiser since choosing Walz as her running mate last week. Donors needed to spend at least $3,300 to enter the fundraiser; tickets costing less than $250,000 were sold out as of Thursday morning. The top ticket is $500,000, according to an invitation obtained by the Chronicle.
Harris and Walz held rallies in Philadelphia, Detroit, Eau Claire, Wis., and Glendale, Ariz., in the past week. They held another in Las Vegas on Saturday before coming to San Francisco.

(138,981 posts)She's basically "back home" right now. She owned a condo there in the past (although had sold it upon becoming VP). She and hubby still maintain their home in L.A. though (a less than a couple hour plane trip south ).

(2,948 posts)My daughter is disabled, so I'm there as her attendant...and she's also an elected Harris (previously Biden) delegate from Pelosi's district (and Pelosi endorsed my daughter in that race)... so maybe that's why she got the invitation. I heard my daughter shrieking from the other room on Thursday when Christine Pelosi called to let her know! (Well, she waited to actually shriek until after the call!)
