I reported it. Doing my own cleaning as it were. Too much of YT is a cesspool.

Often and it makes me angry. Usually report them but doesn't seem to make a difference. It's a septic tank full of disinformation there. How's that 'Don't be evil" going for ya, Google.

...but a young lady who has a wonderful channel had it shut down a couple of months ago. She reached out in her Patreon, and the outpouring of support got her channel, which is totally inoffensive and not even close to "PG", reinstated.

YouTube never specifically told her why her channel had been shut down, so she has no idea if whatever the reason was could happen again. Their vague reason was for "spam messaging", which makes no sense to her, or anyone who views her content.

At this point, thousand of people are relying on YouTube for their income, and to have that wrenched away without actual due process is something they should not be able to do. I believe Congress has an obligation to protect people who've spent years sometimes building an audience in order to make YouTube a viable income stream. The fact YouTube is a private company isn't a good enough reason when the basis of their business is being created by the public.

is positioning itself to be a new streaming empire like Netflix.

When stuff like this happens, it is ALWAYS about profits for shareholders. Never about the worker, the consumer or the good of the planet.
