1) That sort of manual labor is 'below' a man of his stature (in his mind). 2) it implies a level of fitness and willingness to do physical work he does not have.

I call bull shit on that story.

Trump never did anything for himself in his life. To do this he would be required to twist the top off a glue tube. It is possible he removes the cap from a tooth paste tube, but that would be the extent of any physical labor in his life.
