IMO, it appears that Trump believes that this "project" is/was as easy as repairing Wollman Rink in Central Park.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wollman_Rink
Long story short: The rink's concrete had buckled and had to close to be repaired. Trump stepped in, offering to finish the repairs in six months at his own expense, in exchange for some monetary concessions.
To be fair, the rink was nearly finished when Trump entered the picture, so six months (or less) was feasible.
And in Donald Trump tradition, he insisted on his name replacing Wollman, like he owned it (when he didn't).
Mayor Bill DeBlasio cancelled all Trump contracts in 2021.
My point: Trump glided in, finished the repair job, and acted like he saved the rink and Central Park for that matter. He thought that the Reflecting Pool would be just as easy, he'd get the credit, and lauded. Not to mention his branding his name on one more thing in D.C., you know, immortality.

But your point is valid.

BTW, my mind was on Wilbur Mills and the stripper, Fanne Fox and her "dip" into the Tidal Basin.

(26,832 posts)Than social security, health care, his own war, inflation... Is fucking hilarious. That he failed is even more hilarious. Trump is truly showing his real self to the world and the world no longer cares. Americans should fear the diminished place we stand in today thanks to Trump voters.
