Trump fuels World Cup flop as fans stay home

The World Cup fan invasion is nowhere to be seen, a new report has claimed.

The travel industry figures have been left flummoxed by the number of fans heading to the U.S., amid sky-rocketing ticket prices and challenges for visitors trying to get through the border.

Vijay Dandapani, CEO of the Hotel Association of New York City, said that it is “overall a disappointment. There’s no other word that I can say,” he told Reuters.

He revealed to the agency that the association has cut its expected World Cup revenue by 60 percent. He added that despite initial predictions of 1.2 million fans arriving in the city, it now thinks that number is more likely to be half a million, as windfalls long anticipated by the sector are unlikely to materialize.

Everything Trmp touches is forever tainted.

US should not host another FIFA match for at least a century.

serious soccer fans, all tell me that FIFA is the most corrupt organization in the world, second only to Trump.
Which explains a lot...............

No international players or fans should come to the U.S. matches. And the U.S. Soccer fans should boycott the games causing a humongous financial failure to make a point about Trump and FIFA's Trump Bosom Buddies.........

The NYC hotel association was expecting 1.2 million but now they are hoping to get maybe
500,000. As pointing out up thread Trump has been complaining about foreigners* for years
now why would any of those foreigners want to come to America?

*. Except for the Costa Ricans who built his New Jersey golf course or the Polish laborers who
did the demolition on the Bonwit Teller building in NYC for his Trump tower.

They (the right-wing ones) love spending money outside Argentina - a country they themselves despise - and just love the Orange Ogre.

"He knows how to put those darkies and lefties in their place," they'll proudly tell you. "And he roots for Argentina over his own national team!"

(something they're probably right about)

I'm surprised at the number of people that are still coming, under these circumstances.

I don't blame them one bit. Trump & co. have given tourists a horrible time at airports and borders and ticket prices are not meant for the average wage-earner. All in all, it's a hassel not worth anyone's precious vacation time and dollars (or other currency).

Last night it was 72 degrees in Guadalajara with 63 percent humidity — perfect soccer weather, but the Fox announcers were gaslighting about the extreme heat to justify the sacrilege.

This aggression will not stand, man!
