Neil Young released the song 55 years ago. Over two generations ago, I'm fucking done waiting for them to change.
The Alabama football team wasn't even integrated when the song was released. FUCK ALABAMA FOOTBALL (and Auburn)
No excuse for supporting them, no excuse from any student from out of state attending the schools, that is a choice.
No excuse for buying season tix, donating to the schools, vacationing in Alabama, NONE!

(167 posts)SEC football and Alabama ruled the College Football scene for almost two decades. Now they have lost three consecutive National Championships. The solution from the Georgia coach, succession, break away so they can continue playing by their rules. They had a huge advantage, paying players and a big contracts from ESPN. A few years ago it became legal for all schools to pay athletes. The result, losing three years in a row after dominating.
Imagine that, creating an equal playing ground takes away their advantage.
So Alabama wants to roll back voting rights, have at it. But watch what happens when they can't win in Football because athletes refuse to go there, watch what happens when kids refuse to step foot in the racist State.
The reason they integrated the Alabama team in the early 70's, ... USC rolled into town and kicked the living shit out of them. The Alabama football coach pushed hard for integration. Because winning is their top priority.
With that, the ONLY way to change them, make them lose.
""Alabama," at least, richly deserved the shot Lynyrd Skynyrd gave me with their great record. I don't like my words when I listen to it. They are accusatory and condescending, not fully thought out, and too easy to misconstrue." - Neil Young, Waging Heavy Peace
