https://popular.info/p/two-progressive-super-pacs-linkedTwo newly formed super PACs which purport to be progressive are linked to House Republicans and Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), a Popular Information investigation reveals.
On April 24, a super PAC called California Blue registered with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). According to its bare-bones website, the PAC was created to support candidates who will fight really fight against Donald Trump and the MAGA extremists attacking our communities.
California Blues spending patterns, however, are raising questions about its true intentions. All of its money is being funneled through a mysterious vendor Four Ponies Consulting LLC, which was incorporated on April 29 in Wyoming. Of the tens of thousands of other committees registered with the FEC, only one other entity, Real Change PAC, has made payments to Four Ponies. California Blue and Real Change have spent over $1.7 million combined and every dollar has gone to Four Ponies. By routing their money through a newly formed LLC, both PACs are able to conceal their political ideology. Most established political vendors work exclusively with one political party.
Real Change, which claims it is dedicated to electing grassroots candidates who are committed to progressive values, is suspected to be a clandestine Republican operation. In New Jerseys 7th District, incumbent Republican Thomas Kean Jr. is at risk of losing in November. Real Change is spending money attacking the Democratic frontrunner, Rebecca Bennett, while promoting her primary opponents. Footage in the Real Change ads attacking Bennett was previously used by the Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF), the super PAC of the House Republicans.

(90,987 posts)How much will they lie and misrepresent, to get your money?
1) And maybe get YOUR NAME on some list(s) of names they can share or sell, so others at least know youve donated before.
2) Then I suspect theyd see you (from that list) at least being willing to listen to the next spiel
3) and maybe even cough up another donation.

The Democratic Majority for Israel PAC even engaged in laundering its money through another PAC (see below) to cover its tracks
The centrist Powell won, barely, arfffff.

Conservative PAC ties Democratic candidate in Nebraska's CD2 race to Trump

With less than six weeks until the May primary elections, Nebraskans might see more and more political advertising on TV and online.
In the past couple of days, some have seen an ad featuring an unlikely pair: Omaha State Sen. John Cavanaugh, who is seeking the Democratic nomination in the 2nd Congressional District, and President Donald Trump.
The ad points to a bill from Cavanaugh and claims the lawmaker is "enacting Trump's policy" by introducing the bill this legislative session. The ad states Cavanaugh's proposal would mirror Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill and asks viewers to thank the lawmaker for supporting Trump's "MAGA agenda."
Google's Ads Transparency Center shows the online video ad was published by the conservative American Action Network Inc. and played throughout the 2nd Congressional District up to 100,000 times.

Controversial Pro-Israel PAC Launders Spending Through Another PAC (Nebraska's 2nd District, the Blue Dot)

Nebraska congressional candidate Denise Powell had rejected the support of Democratic Majority for Israel. So DMFI transferred its ad buy to a different organization.

A swing-seat congressional primary in Nebraska thats already swarming with outside spending has a new twist with a familiar ring. Big money from a pro-Israel super PAC was en route to help its preferred candidate, but the ham-fisted attempt to conceal that support may backfire on its intended beneficiary, centrist New Democratendorsed candidate Denise Powell.
Since mid-March, outside groups have spent $2.93 million (as of April 29) in Nebraskas Second Congressional District, supporting Powell and opposing state Sen. John Cavanaugh, a populist candidate with an extensive personal and family political history in the Omaha region that the district encompasses. Cavanaugh had been the early favorite in the race for the open seat vacated by Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) and won by Democrats in the last two presidential elections. The nearly $3 million already poured into the contest is an enormous amount for the relatively modest media market of Omaha and environs. The election is May 12.
Some of that outside money was scheduled to come from Democratic Majority for Israel, a pro-Israel super PAC. DMFI had made a $176,050 ad buy for the week of April 27. The group filled out issue advertisement agreement forms with WOWT, the NBC affiliate in Omaha, among other stations. The WOWT agreement was signed by Michael DEttorre of the media placement agent Grassroots Media. Jay Peterson, the treasurer of DMFI PAC, is listed on the form. The form states that the ad was submitted to the station last Friday, April 24.
WOWT filled out a buy sheet for the ads, showing precisely when they would run throughout the day, with slots in the morning and evening local news broadcasts, Meet the Press, The Today Show, Saturday Night Live, the NBA playoffs, the Kentucky Derby, and various prime-time programs.

There also were some really sus, really dodgy attacks on DU smearing Cavanaugh as well, posts full of lies and smears, ludicrously calling him a Trumper, which is just madness.
Here is a great rebuttal to that bollocks:
