President Donald Trump's sudden change of policy on reopening the Strait of Hormuz has angered Gulf allies and changed how they view the United States amid the Iran war, an expert said on Thursday.
Ravi Agrawal, editor in chief of Foreign Policy Magazine, told MS NOW that Trump's decision followed Saudi Arabia's move to suspend the U.S. military's ability to use its bases and airspaces for the ongoing military operation. The key Gulf ally's decision was a response to "Project Freedom," which Trump announced on his Truth Social platform over the weekend without discussion among the regional allies.
The backlash has had real ramifications, Agrawal argued.

My guess is that every tweet declaring x or y just happened or is happening leaves "his people" scrambling to do the thing that wasn't on anyone's radar or somehow "spin" so they can pretend he's not just making shit up willy nilly.
I think it is also a safe bet that John Phelan (former Secretary of the Navy) had to go because he delivered the news that, while they could perhaps escort up to 10% of normal traffic levels to safeguard them under a ceasefire, it is logistically impossible to escort anywhere near that number under conditions of active conflict. And it has been crystal clear from the outset the so-called "ceasefire" is bullshit.
I can't imagine Hung Cao lasting long. Sooner or later he will have break the bad news. Reality has a pesky way of remaining stubbornly.... well... real.
