You are more likely to get sick on a flight

than on a cruise. Diseases are spread globally from air travel (COVID and Ebola to name two)
A cruise passenger gets sick in South America and then boards a cruise and people act as if cruise ships are a vat of infectious diseases. 40 million people cruise annually, it is no more dangerous or safer than other ways to travel (actually a little safer as there is a full medical staff on board) The death rate is about 200 passengers a year, mostly from natural causes.
Cruises are not for everyone, and how one travels, or doesn't is a personal choice.
But this Hanta virus story has made people come to conclusions that are not supported by what really happened.
