Trumpf offers bribe to Fetterman

Last edited Thu May 7, 2026, 07:42 AM - Edit history (2)

HERE!

Even if Fetterman doesn't accept a bribe, the offer, itself, is a crime by POTUS.

I am 1 goodfellow (@mrgoodfellow.bsky.social) 2026-05-06T05:08:15.667Z

WHICH MEANS THE LINK CANNOT BE DISPLAYED

Not even sure Fetterman would need a bribe.

Believe it, but I wish there were receipt.

Fetterman didn’t respond to Trump’s authorized offer, but, when asked how Democrats treat him, notably said: “They don’t mistreat me, but I think increasingly they’re suspicious or kinda standoffish.”

snip***

But Fetterman has since exacerbated the situation by conducting himself in these tribal times in ways that please the right and anger the left: He largely ignores Trump’s transgressions, finds ways to support the White House in high-profile moments and is increasingly ubiquitous when criticizing his own party on right-coded media in ways that affirm conservative views about liberal excess.

How about Fascist "Excess"?

Bottom line, Fettrman is Not a patriot.

Wed May 6, 2026, 12:56 PM

Where he (Hannity) allegedly got a call from Trump offering such a thing, from the internets (because the OP didn't add any context) :

And Trump has said, if Fetterman does, he’d reciprocate. In his typical unsubtle fashion, the president conveyed as much to Sean Hannity in March and asked Hannity to play intermediary.

When Fetterman sat for an interview with the Fox host the next day, Hannity delivered the pitch, recounting Trump’s marching orders nearly verbatim.

“‘Your job is to tell him: He’s gonna run as a Republican, he’s gonna have our full support, more money than he ever dreamed of, and he’s gonna win big,’” Hannity told Fetterman, recalling Trump’s instructions.

If he has an otherwise 80% progressive/Democratic-leaning voting record, he'd wear out his welcome with the Republican MAGA caucus pretty quickly, wouldn't he? Also, why would he want to hitch his wagon to a losing cult party and an increasingly dementia-ridden cult leader? As soon as he goes against Trump, Trump/MAGA will instantly jump all over him.

Not interested in the drip, drip, drip fake political intrigue and trying to coax a bunch of extractions from Schumer.

Democrats are pretty tired with him at this point, and for good reason. He needs to decide why he’s caucusing with democrats, if all he’s doing now is tearing the party down and using Trump’s own talking points against the party.

I voted for and supported Fetterman and was born and raised in western Pennsylvania. Honestly have to say that Fetterman is pretty much in line with how people out this way think. Dems here outside Allegheny county are centrist and value tradition.

Fetterman is probably way more black and white about things than most though. That's the rub. Stances like his unconditional support for Israel seemingly came out of the blue. Supporting Trump's nominees shouldn't be surprising since most people believe presidents should be able to have who they want in their cabinet.

Dems should recognize that Fetterman just marches to his own drummer.
