CBS Evening News MAGAt Tony Dokoupil's debut, 4.17 million viewers. Week ending March 13, 3.83 million.

"CBS Evening News" crashed back below the dreaded 4 million viewer threshold following it's MAGA-friendly makeover, a red line that previously triggered major shake-ups at the network, Variety reported Tuesday.

For the week ending March 13, the program drew just 3.83 million viewers, with a measly 468,000 in the advertiser-coveted 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen data. The stark freefall comes after anchor Tony Dokoupil's start in January, when he debuted with 4.17 million viewers. Shortly thereafter, he brought in 4.6 million.

ABC's "World News Tonight" commanded an average 8.48 million viewers, while NBC's "Nightly News" pulled 6.51 million. In the key demographic, both networks crushed CBS with 1.03 million and 946,000 viewers, respectively.

"Quarter to date as of March 12, 'CBS Evening News' has shed 15% of its viewership in the critical 25-to-54 demo, the audience coveted by advertisers in news programming, over the year-earlier period. In comparison, NBC’s 'NBC Nightly News' is up 8% in the demo, while ABC’s 'World News Tonight' is off 4%," the report said.

He took the hit for CNN's disastrous "Trump Town Hall."

Problem is, he was a sacrificial lamb. The "Town Hall"..and the general swing to the right with more unchallenged Republicans spouting talking points and a painful addiction to "whataboutism"...were all the direct efforts of two radical right billionaires, Warner Discovery CEO Davis Zaslav and his pal John Malone. They threw Licht under the bus and then got worse.

Same will happen with Weiss. They'll single out someone to blame, but it won't be her.

The last straw for me was when Pelosi was on and ACCURATELY called her "a Trump apologist," and she said something like "I don't think it's fair for you to make that accusation."

It was fair. She turns my stomach.

As long as there is one less source reporting Trump’s flaws and fiascos, and only heaping praise upon him, that’s all that matters.

not the primary objective. Preserving the money they have and will have is, via tax and policies. This is an investment for the long haul by billionaires for billionaires. If they happen to make money, which is a very distinct possibilty then all the better, for them.
