There is no longer any justification whatsoever for this man to continue to be allowed to be POTUS. He has shown complete disregard for the Constitution and is clearly failing mentally.
Every elected Republican knows this. Every elected Democrat needs to start saying it TODAY. If the drug boat attacks and invasion of Venezuela had been treated correctly and Congress would have responded forcefully, we wouldn't even be here right now. I have this bad feeling that Democrats want Trump to be POTUS in November because they think its the best chance for huge gains. I. DON'T. CARE. The damage he is doing to this country, and now world, is not reversable or fixable at this point.
He must go, and must go before Easter. He can't be allowed to continue this. Please, call your reps and DEMAND he be removed.

(24,619 posts)MAGA didnt invent apocalyptic thinkingit industrialized it. America is described as fallen, occupied, corrupt beyond recovery. Elections are fake. Courts are compromised. Journalists are enemies. Neighbors are suspect. If everything is already illegitimate, then anything done in response becomes justified. Youre not undermining democracy; youre acknowledging it already failed. Youre not being cruel; youre being realistic.
Apocalypse becomes permission.
Of course, he wouldn't actually drop ....

Not a freaking peep out of Putin either, probably planning the next country he wants to overtake. Eff these "white" old men, get rid of them all (Trump, Netanyahu, Putin, Orban, Chi and Kim Jong Un. I hope they all choke on that power and greed. Crap, they are turning the world upside down!!!!! People just want to have a good quality of life. Fucking wars!!!!!!!! Can't people just have meaningful dialogue.
But with this regime we have they are full of hate, blame, revenge, and retribution.
Really sucks.

Vance is not dumb. He got his daddy's brains (and personality)

He keeps those brains in a special glass sphere!

(3,457 posts)any other single person in the world, except for the other 5 or 6 despot leaders, would be better than trump. Trump is a sucking black hole of evil stupidity that draws all the desperately damaged sycphants to him. Vance doesn't have that kind of charisma, he'd be less harmful that trump.

(1,895 posts)The Republicans want the publicity of that date burned into THEIR version of a celebration. They can't have a Republican, especially a president, impeached and removed before that date.
Even though they know he's bastard, they will get to stand up there and say wonderful things about America and ignore everything they and trump have done just so it will be a photo event for history and their constituents.

(9,700 posts)Unless he dies before then, he WILL be president. There is no way he will be impeached and removed with Republicans in control of Congress. So it's pointless making that supposition.

(9,700 posts)allow Dems to take control of the House and Senate and initiate impeachment. However, they STILL probably wouldn't have the votes to convict and remove the POS POTUS-- even assuming he's impeached in the House.

Republicans were saying the same thing about Biden--for different reasons; but still....
Just as we are not able to force the Evil Orange Turnip out, they were unable to force out Joe Biden even though their grievance with him was on par--justified or not--with ours against the President.
Both the 25th Amendment and impeachment are extraordinary measures with incredibly high bars--for good reason.
Republicans do not see what we see--not that I can tell. The things we see as "complete disregard for the Constitution" they see as nuance to be debated. What we see as "clearly failing mentally" they see as brilliance that we just do not understand.
For what it is worth: I don't see him as "clearly failing mentally." Yes, he has his moments--we all do--but I can almost always tell what he is trying to say. I may disagree with it vehemently, but it does make sense. For me to say he was mentally incapacitated would take a lot more. I've dealt with people that were actually mentally incapacitated before.
I feel like your "bad feeling that Democrats want Trump to be POTUS in November because they think its the best chance for huge gains" is really just Democrats in Congress knowing that impeachment comes with huge political risks. And those risks are far too great to not just wait it out until either nature takes its course or something so egregious happens that it is clear that Republicans are finally onboard with impeaching him. We are far from that point at this time unfortunately.
The good news is that the damage he is doing to this country--and now world--is reversible and fixable. Not for those that have lost their lives, but we can fix the damage. We have been through worse as a country and a world--so far.
Keep the
of hope and democracy shining!
