I thought he was going to start handing out Boy Scout merit badges.

1. It was more of an awards show than a set of statements about policies.

I got 13 merit badges.

I was the only member of my troop, 525 out of New York, for all time, to receive the astronomy badge.

2. There is no

doubt that there are really good people in this country. And introducing a couple is fine. But the felon used them to avoid addressing anything important.

3. ... and to keep the applause going.

... and to run out the clock.

... and to shame Democrats for not standing for some of the awards.
