(3,607 posts)The last thing Trump wants is for the country to be united.

(6,877 posts)This isn't who Trump is. And the hard lift of bringing people together is usually expected of Democratic presidents but rarely of Republican ones.

(52,807 posts)Trump has already reminded us "who we are", at least a huge chunk of the country. Have you been paying attention? You are asking Trump to be someone he isn't and can never be.
How can Americans come together when there are so many who are uncompassionate, cruel, and violent? That ship sailed a long time ago. Try to keep up.

(52,807 posts)than mine. I just needed to yell at Kasich who has been so irrelevant for such a long time. What is it about a lot of politicians who just can't stop talking, even when they aren't running for anything? It is like an addiction - once bitten by the political bug, they seem to always be running for office.
They remind me of gamblers. Once they've won big, they can't stop playing as they try to relive that thrill of winning.

He sees glimpses of lardass not being egregiously offensive and thinks "he's like normal people." I think Kasich is actually a goldfish.

(8,820 posts)apparently the guy didn't catch Trump debase the women's team nor did he hear the raucous laughter from the men's hockey team...

(84 posts)by the youth at the Olympics was uplifting. I watched the US athletes support and celebrate together. That was great. But I saw the same happen between athletes from different countries. For instance, I was so moved when a sledding (it was maybe luge) girl who had a great run reached out to the next contestant whose run did not go well and she planted a kiss on the disappointed girl's forehead. I saw young people who knew how win and lose graciously. (We won't talk about the men's hockey team). Athletes who won did not throw their victory in the face of those who lost. We need leaders that help our country and the world come together if we are to survive as a human race on a troubled planet. No Kasich, the Donald does not have it in him. The most he can unite are those who swear allegiance and support his corruption.
