Someone posted a clip today about canceling all those recurring subscriptions that go to billionaires supporting this fascist takeover. After layoffs at WP, I finally did it. Cancelled all Amazon stuff and working on others .
Enough!
Ideas for music streaming appreciated.

(41,257 posts)If I had a steady, predictable income, I'd get a monthly sub to DU. Everything else is local orgs who take annual dues, paid by check.
Apple designed the iPhone to be a tool to make impulsive spending as easy as possible, after seeing the success of Windows 8, which led the way in that direction. That's what it is.

(6,250 posts)I use VRadio from the Google app store. Hundreds of internet radio stations are on it from all parts of world and in an easy to use interface.
Oh, and it's free.

(58,815 posts)it's fine. (Though now my union has our prescriptions coming through Amazon, but I can change out of that in a few months.)
Are you looking for music streaming because Spotify was running ads for ICE? I got a Spotify subscription for Christmas, and love it, but then learned that. But they say they have stopped running the ads. Still considering cancelling it, though. I heart radio has some stuff, but there are ads.

(5,284 posts)They have an astonishingly broad and deep catalogue (essentially identical to Spotify) and they pay their artists way way more royalties. In addition, there are good third-party tools to migrate your playlists.

(14,360 posts)Problem is I live on an island and its so very convenient shopping with Amazon because we dont have mainland shopping. Most of our stores sell dive equipment or seashells. I have an Amazon credit card, which makes it even easier and I belong to prime which makes shipping free and lots of other perks. And of course I have Amazon Prime on TV. And I read audible books which belongs to either Amazon or Apple. Im thinking that perhaps I would start by just simply not changing anything but just not shopping through Amazon. Then after getting used to making myself go back to stores and hunting for things, then I could start working on the other stuff. Does that make sense?
Oh, if only I were rich and could have a personal shopper.

(21,844 posts)I dont think any of us can be perfect but all of us can do something. I decided that I can still shop on Amazon on occasion but for me it makes sense to cancel all the rest.
Just do what you can!
