Let's remember past GREAT Kennedy Ctr Honors

One of my favorite annual holiday traditions has always been watching the Kennedy Center Honors. I don’t think I’ve missed it any year that it was televised. And now Trump has ruined even that for me. Everything he touches dies. So tonight, I decided to watch one of the greatest tributes of past years. Enjoy along with me.

It was wonderful…especially meeting other honorees and (backstage) the artists paying tribute to them.

The 1992 Honorees:
Lionel Hampton: Jazz vibraphonist.
Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward: Acclaimed actors.
Ginger Rogers: Legendary dancer and actress.
Mstislav Rostropovich: Cellist and conductor.
Paul Taylor: Modern dance choreographer.

Our company (Paul Taylor Dance Company) performed at the Kennedy Center almost every year, for decades. Those were some times! Loved being in that complex, every trip.

Thanks for the thread

Must have been so exciting! Every performance in a hallowed hall is one to remember forever.

The name sounds vaguely familiar so I looked them up.
Been around since 1954, and are NYC based.

Well, I spent a year + at then Dance Magazine (NYC publisher) around the late 1970's so I'm like 98% sure the company was featured in some issue, or more!
