Prairie Gates
(7,047 posts)as they are by people taking hats and balls from kids at sporting events.
Of course, the spate of outrageous takings is some kind of bizarre psychic displacement, a mass psychosis whereby we substitute the Meanie taking the hat, the ball for the far more serious deprivation of the world's children. And, of course, in the fairy tale version, there's always comeuppance for the Meanie, and the kid gets not just the hat or ball, but a bat, a visit with the sports star. It all works out in the end, see?
The bad faith is obvious to everyone, so of course it cannot be stated by anyone. Bad Karen! Good sports star! The kid gets the hat. The ball. The children, on the other hand, go without doctors and dentist visits, lose their IEPs to funding cuts, miss meals. Go without new shoes and coats, shiver in cold projects, get blown to pieces by drones and bombs.

(3,069 posts)And she would've. I have been told I have a very scary face and posture when I'm mad. Man, woman, young or old, it's all the same to me.
I had a guy at a lumber yard, a Trumper, who came up behind me while I was at checkout purchasing a sheet of drywall that had been marked 1/2 off for corner damage. He claimed he found it before me and had "...set it aside - planning to come back later." Very demanding, very nasty.
After a brief exchange, I realized that I had left my wallet in my pickup. I told both the cashier and the asshole to wait-right-there because I had to get something from my pickup. The blood drained from that asshole's face completely. After he left, the cashier told me that she thought I was going to get my gun. Of course I don't carry a gun in my vehicle - and it was my wallet that I was going for. I found it amusing, but then this is life in Texas. The point of this anecdote is that Trump-fuckers will take everything they can steal from you for whatever made up reason, until they literally fear for their safety. I don't like dealing with rabid people - but this is where we're at.
