Bondi has fired her personal ethics advisor

Last edited Sun Jul 13, 2025, 08:04 PM - Edit history (1)

Not a surprise really. if your ethics advisor is telling you that you are breaking the law/ethics, just get rid of them! The political equivalent of putting duct tape over your check engine light so you can't see it anymore lol

https://news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-week/bondi-fires-her-personal-ethics-chief-as-doj-purge-continues

Attorney General Pam Bondi has fired her personal ethics adviser, removing the Justice Department’s top official responsible for counseling the most senior political appointees, according to two people familiar with the move.

Joseph Tirrell, a career attorney who’d spent nearly 20 years at the department, received a termination letter from Bondi July 11 that didn’t state a reason for his immediate removal from federal service. Similar to notices the Trump administration has sent to dozens of other DOJ civil servants, Bondi cited Article II of the Constitution, which concerns presidential powers, the sources said.

Tirrell, who transferred from the FBI in 2018 after a decade of service there, headed the DOJ’s ethics office. His portfolio included reviewing and approving financial disclosures, recusals, waivers to conflicts of interest, and advice on travel and gifts for Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel, and other DOJ leaders.

He also oversaw a team of ethics staffers that provide guidance to employees in all the department’s litigating offices, law enforcement agencies, and other branches.

I think she sees an ethics adviser doing her about as much good as a hairdresser serving Marie Antoinette on October 17, 1793.

I have a close friend who reported to Tirrell. Oof, not good. This was a last remaining bulwark. I sure hope some folks had the foresight to make contingencies.

Pammy needs a shrink more than she needs an ethics adviser.

Some advice to Pam:
Please Pam, before it's too late to save your soul please find a nice non-evangelical church or mosque and reject the heretical Church of your Lord and Master Donald. Grow a brain and learn how to think critically instead of being a foolish tool. Oh, and check onto a psychiatric hospital for some badly needed therapy. I'll pay for it. Maybe with some help you might overcome your Pit Viper personality. Then again, maybe you prefer to remain an asshole.

Bondi's ethics chief posts the letter that fired him on LinkedIn - he labeled it "fired from DOJ without cause" - along with a statement saying the oath he took "did not come with the caveat that I need only support the Constitution when it is easy or convenient."

Also they misspelled his name.
