Most Americans interested in Epstein and Trump have seen the old video of them together at a party, whispering and leering at young women. Most have seen quotes from Trump in magazine profiles praising his pal Epstein, who "likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side." But if you listen to Michael Wolff, the bestselling Trump biographer and National Magazine Award-winning writer, there is far more to their relationship than a few words and images.
While Trump has repeatedly tried to minimize his ties to Epstein, whom he now calls a "creep," Wolff said "Epstein and Trump had been the best of friends for almost 15 years. ... They were instrumental in each other's rise." The pair "hunted women together," according to Wolff, but fell out, as very rich men do, over real estate. Trump went behind Epstein's back to outbid him on a Palm Beach property that both coveted. Epstein believed that Trump was actually laundering money for a Russian oligarch and threatened to expose him. And then, according to Wolff's recollection of what Epstein told him, Trump "dropped a dime" on his friend's trafficking of young girls to the Palm Beach Police Department. (Which, as Wolff notes, indicates that Trump had long known of the crimes perpetrated at Epstein's house.)
By the time of Trump's ascent to the presidency, Epstein was ready to "drop a dime" of his own. Wolff told Blumenthal and Wilentz how, after Trump's election in 2016, "I was sitting talking to Epstein and he said, 'Wait a minute, I've gotta show you something.'" According to Wolff, Epstein "went into his safe, and he came out with photographs. They were Polaroids, I think, and he kind of spread them out like playing cards. ... It was Trump with girls of an uncertain age, at Epstein's Palm Beach house, where all of the things that (Epstein) would ultimately be accused of took place." He places the date of those pictures around 1999 or 2000.
"And I remember very vividly three of them," Wolff continued. "There are two in which the girls, topless girls, are sitting on Trump's lap. And then a third in which he has a stain on the front of his pants, and the girls are kind of pointing at it, sort of bent over, laughing ... three or four girls." Wolff also said he assumes those photographs were in Epstein's safe when the FBI raided his house and seized every item of potential evidence.

Wolf has secondhand knowledge. It may not hold up in a court of law, but I find him convincing.

(34,079 posts)Primarily through his real estate properties in both NY and FL. He rented out two entire floors of his NYC dump to them. And, let's not forget all those Russian women who stayed at his Florida hotels while they waited to birth their anchor babies. Got to wonder how much of his whole "birthright citizenship" fight is meant to cover his ass here, now that he and Sweet Daddy Vlad seem to be on the out.

(10,664 posts)... his fans care about this Epstein link. There has been so much... he's a proven sex offender. Why is this news? Do people think he checked IDs to make sure his sex partners were 18+? Why do they suddenly care?

(12,810 posts)I suspect they believe that Trump is not on the list because they buy his lies. If any names are ever released, this DOJ will make sure that any Republicans and Trump are excluded.

(6,132 posts)but they know there are a ton of democrats on that list... they want the list to prove it and defile us with it. That their great lord and savior, DJT, is the top most ranking pedophile of any group? Nah... anything he does is "forgiven" and he's clean. At least, that's how I see it. Magats hate us even more than we detest them. They really want nothing more than to rid the country of every single one of us. Anything that would push their cause to start a civil war is to priority to them.
From Pizzagate to the Wayfair conspiracy and more, they're all about sex and kids. That's the only touch stone they really have. Everything else they've defiled themselves, but as long as they hold this one taboo up as sacrosanct, they consider themselves righteous. And they just know we heathen, devil-worshipping democrats are anything BUT righteous. We not only have sex with kids; we sacrifice them, too... remember? /snark
Amazingly, I never heard one peep from them during trump's first maladministration, when they "disappeared" that line of underage girls from a detention camp in the middle of the night....
Justice matters.

(5,376 posts)photos of djt with girls, there could be some photos with Dems, too. While Repugs are in the center of the target, we don't have a full picture of how large the target may be. Think we need to call for full disclosure, but be prepared if some names we like are included.
I worked on The Hill. Believe me, politicians of both stripes push their luck when they're away from home and family.

(6,076 posts)Names appearing on the unsealed list are not an Epstein "client list" or a list of those who were on his flights. Many of those whose names appear in the documents aren't accused of wrongdoing.

(1,194 posts)He has admitted that his daughter was hot enough that if she wasn't his daughter he would "date her". He bought a teenage beauty contest and felt he had "the right" to walk into a dressing room to meet and talk to teenage girls that were in various stages of undress. At one point right before election 2016 he was civilly accused by the victim of sexually assaulting her while under the age of 16. The encounter I might add allegedly made possible by Jeffrey Epstein. That civil suit was later dropped but not before statements were put on the record to the court.
He nominated for the Attorney General a Congressman that was under investigation for trafficking a minor across stateline for purposes of sex whom ultimately was withdrawn from nomination. He was civilly found liable for sexually assaulting a victim in a woman's dressing room in a department store. These are all things he has admitted to or was accused of and this list isn't even complete. I'm not even including the affairs he's had. But I will say he is the last person on earth that should be looked to as a moral compass.
I could go on, but why.
We don't have to use our imagination. The Republican supporters chose to support the Felon either in spite of or because of these facts.
How many tied to the Republican Christian right have exhibited a propensity to engage in illegal sexual activity with minors, both male and female. And their fellow Republicans remain silent and continue to support this behavior by their absence of condemnation and continued financial and/or electoral support.
How ridiculous is it there are father daughter dance/ceremonies where the daughter vows to their daddy's to keep their virginity intact until after marriage. As a father of a daughter, I get it, most of us don't ever want to think about that day. They will always be our little girl. But these guys seem to relish the idea of controlling their daughters virginity as though they're keeping it for themselves. It's daddy's imaginary chastity belt and only daddy holds the key. It's f.cking twisted but that's the moral way of thinking their Christianity has taught them. Just like the Taliban.
At what point will it be enough. The next Democratic administration needs to stop doing business as usual and start changing the playbook. It's not to say Democrats are perfect but I can't currently name a National Democratic politician holding office, that I wouldn't want any female members of my family around.

(5,138 posts)There are now just too many people with their feet in the ground, emphatically telling anyone who listens there's nothing to this and it's all imaginary.
A guy runs out of a building covered in soot, his clothes smoldering, his hands burnt, and yelling at me that "everything's under control here!!!" tells me there's a little more than just smoke in there.
