Proud to call him a friend. He has possibly the toughest uphill battle for re-election of any current Democrat in the Senate, and he is probably the smartest one in the Senate. We get together in DC when we can, and he always asks THE smartest questions. You wouldn’t know it from this clip, but he also has a finely honed interest in foreign policy.

The USA would probably never elect Jon president, and he harbors no such ambitions (that he has expressed to me, anyway), but with his intelligence and dynamism, we would be the envy of the world if he were to find himself bring sworn in some fine inauguration day.
