Jimmy Swaggart dies at 90.

Well, 'bye.

Don't know who Swaggart was? Google him.

Basically he was a Pentecostal preacher who railed against gays, loose women, booze . . . you know, all the usual sins. Until one day he was caught by the cops in Baton Rouge LA cruising for . . . well, you know. Then a local prostitute revealed her long relationship with Jimmy. And, no, the relationship was not platonic.

Little known fact: "The Killer" -- Jerry Lee Lewis -- and Swaggart were cousins. They both grew up in the Southern Pentecostal church environment, which is where Jerry Lee learned to play the piano.

A Christian cannot lose salvation. Most, if not all, of what the Bible says happens to us when we receive Christ would be invalidated if salvation could be lost. Salvation is the gift of God, and God’s gifts are “irrevocable” (Romans 11:29). A Christian cannot be un-newly created. The redeemed cannot be unpurchased. Eternal life cannot be temporary. God cannot renege on His Word. Scripture says that God does not lie (Titus 1:2).

Two common objections to the belief that a Christian cannot lose salvation concern these experiential issues: 1) What about Christians who live in a sinful, unrepentant lifestyle? 2) What about Christians who reject the faith and deny Christ? The problem with these objections is the assumption that everyone who calls himself a “Christian” has actually been born again. The Bible declares that a true Christian will not live a state of continual, unrepentant sin (1 John 3:6). The Bible also says that anyone who departs the faith is demonstrating that he was never truly a Christian (1 John 2:19). He may have been religious, he may have put on a good show, but he was never born again by the power of God. “By their fruit you will recognize them” (Matthew 7:16). The redeemed of God belong “to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God” (Romans 7:4).

Nothing can separate a child of God from the Father’s love (Romans 8:38–39). Nothing can remove a Christian from God’s hand (John 10:28–29). God guarantees eternal life and maintains the salvation He has given us. The Good Shepherd searches for the lost sheep, and, “when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home” (Luke 15:5–6). The lamb is found, and the Shepherd gladly bears the burden; our Lord takes full responsibility for bringing the lost one safely home.

1. You have to be "born again".
2. You have to be really, really sorry for the bad things you did.
3. Your good.

It's a requirement. Reparations are part of it too. Like Jimmy and Jerry Lee, I was raised on Assembly Of God teachings. It's how I know how to spot The Phonies that use faith as a means to enrich themselves.

Here's a more detailed look at Assemblies of God beliefs on salvation:

1. Salvation as a Gift: Salvation is a gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross. It's not earned through good works, but rather a free gift offered to all who believe.

2. Repentance and Faith: Salvation is received through repentance, which is turning away from sin and towards God. It also requires faith, which involves believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and trusting in his atoning work.

3. Justification and Regeneration: When a person repents and believes, they are justified (declared righteous in God's sight) and regenerated (born again, experiencing a spiritual renewal). This new life in Christ is a transformative experience.

4. The Role of the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit plays a vital role in salvation, both at the point of conversion and in the subsequent life of the believer. The Holy Spirit empowers believers for ministry and helps them to live a life pleasing to God.

5. Baptism in the Holy Spirit: Assemblies of God believes in a separate experience called the baptism in the Holy Spirit, which is distinct from the initial experience of salvation. This experience is often marked by speaking in tongues.

6. Sanctification: Sanctification is the ongoing process of becoming more like Christ, separating from sin, and growing in holiness. It is a lifelong journey that begins at salvation.

7. Assurance of Salvation: While the Assemblies of God emphasize that salvation is a gift and a transformative experience, they also believe that believers can have assurance of their salvation based on their faith and obedience to God. However, they also acknowledge that salvation can be lost through persistent unbelief and rejection of Christ.

8. The Importance of Witnessing: Assemblies of God emphasizes the importance of sharing the gospel and leading others to Christ. They believe that the Church has a mission to seek and save the lost.

I think that's where the term "ala-carte religion" comes from.

"A la carte religion" refers to a practice where individuals selectively choose which religious beliefs, practices, or doctrines to accept, often rejecting or ignoring aspects that don't align with their personal preferences or worldview. It's like choosing items from a menu, taking what appeals and leaving the rest. This contrasts with a more traditional, holistic approach where individuals adhere to the entirety of a religious tradition's teachings and practices.

The visible and the invisible. The first is by far more common in our country. In christianity, it involves worshipping Jesus, having rituals, and doing whatever one pleases the rest of the week. But the level that often takes root in is shallow ..... for example, Jesus spoke against doing harm to children. Unless he was telling the only jokes found in the four gospels, one is safe in saying that should be followed in the individual home, community, and national policies. Hence, when someone attempts to justify harming others, here or anywhere else, we know they are blind and deaf.

The invisible compels one to seriously examine themself. To rarely, if ever, judge others -- unless they are destructive and harming others. To recognize that the prophet Jesus, just like the other Enlightened Ones around the earth at different times, was teaching guidelines for an inner evolution, which is the only type of evolution that humanity can experience.

Fake Christians that put imaginary words of God, many not found in any Bible, on the ballot. Why? To make even more money and power. These fake Christians were simply in the God business because it was a the fast lane to easy money. And they did real damage along the way to real people, but they got theirs on both ends.

I hope they bury him with his money, the pile of shit that he was.

Jimmy Swaggert was Louisiana’s version of a stupid Donald Trump. He was a corrupted, greedy, lying sack of sh*t — one of the most contemptible men I’ve ever seen. A stain on humanity.

Evidence here.
