. . . might do is much of a mystery to the litigants and their counsel, especially after oral argument, so they clearly had the amended complaint ready and it's a good look for them.

That was quick

There are already TWO new class action lawsuits challenging Trump birthright citizenship order

Suits designed to adjust to today's Supreme Court ruling

Including one by ACLU, which says "This executive order directly opposes our Constitution, values & history"

Only an injunction by SCOTUS means anything now, and they can wait as long as they want to rule, or not rule at all.
