The Radiance Behind All Things

In the fourth episode of The Power of Myth, Bill Moyers and mythologist Joseph Campbell discuss the role of sacrifice in myth.

In this clip, the two discuss Jesus, Buddha, the tree of non-duality and the tree of immortal life. Ultimately, Campbell discusses how myth, religion, and art uncover the one radiance behind all things.

"There is a difference between the light and the light bulb." (Possible paraphrase, there.)

This bulb that is me will burn out. But the light is still there-- possibly being directed through another vehicle. I don't know; and I don't care.

As long as the light --which is more than my mere corporeal presence and personality-- continues, all will be well.
