No cuts to Medicaid! (Largest Medicaid cuts in history).

That's the lede. That's the story. The President of the United States lied to the American people today about his budget bill so that he can give huge tax cuts to the wealthy.

It's really not that complicated, and covering it that way is good journalism.

his lies to the American people about this very consequential bill would be the breaking news for today. It should be the way they introduce what happened regarding the bill today instead of getting into the weeds and letting Mike Johnson spout nonsense. When you step back the important thing about the bill's progress today is that the President lied to the American people about what's in it. And that should be the focus.
