There was supposed to be a briefing on the analysis of the bunker bombing and an assessment of how "dismantled" Iran's nuclear capabilities actually are as a result. It was cancelled at the last minute, no word as to why and no rescheduling. More and more reports keep coming to light suggesting the bombing will only result in temporary setbacks to Iran's nuclear capability.
Not hard to put two and two together here.
The trump administration doesn't really think they can kick this can down the road and hide the truth do they?

(4,244 posts)Presidents Obama and Biden understood the infeasibility of eradicating Iran's nuclear aspirations solely by force, hense, they chose diplomacy. Those two wise presidents reserved thoughts of bombing as the last resort.
Trump thought he could order the dropping of a few dozen bombs and then be on his way to the Nobel Peace Prize.
I am worried about what will happen from this point forward. I think a restrained approach should prevail. I am afraid that Trump will order more bombings to bolster his ego.

(15,355 posts)They believe Trump, and the longer there's no push back on his "side" of the story (pretty certain Fox and the rest of the reich-wing blogosphere are not reporting on the Pentagon's contrary take on the attack), the more solidified they will become in their opinion, no matter how wrong it is. Once they've petrified their belief, it won't matter if Trump (or anyone in his administration) contradicts what they were initially told.
