CNN: Three sources tell CNN that according to an early U.S. Intelligence assessment, the U.S. Military strikes on three of Iran's nuclear facilities last weekend did not destroy the core components of the country's nuclear program and likely only set it back a few months

(22,626 posts)But they do not let their factual reporting determine their coverage IMO. Their own reporting shows they cannot trust his word, but this doesn't result in a more skeptical attitude in general to everything he says. However, credit where credit is due.

(92,164 posts)The media should never discuss this without mentioning the fact Obama made a deal to regularly monitor them and Trump ended it and that's why we are here.

(7,912 posts)That's why we have experts, something rump doesn't like, because he knows everything. The experts explained it to all of us, openly. First, someone said that our bombs were untested. I don't know about that, but they did say that we could penetrate 200 feet, but not 300. How they knew how deep the facilities are, I don't know. But, they did say that we had a chance if we successively bombed the same crater 3 or 4 times, pushing the penetration down. That would have to be incredibly accurate bombing. Our guys are good, but that was a tough assignment.
Without starting up the argument, I think it had value for making the Iranians move their operations. But, there is such a backlash from our public, I'll bet he doesn't repeat it. If he does, it'll be because he enjoys playing tough guy in War Games. I'd like to know how many times they rebombed and what the true accuracy was.
We are still going to protest against his rotten regime. He's not making that go away. We are not uniting behind his war moves.
